Card Making Day with Joy Clair

Joy Clair Donut Card Making Day Stamp

Challenge: Letters

Donut Worry, Be Happy Joy Clair Card

Welcome to the Joy Clair World Card Making Day Challenge! Hopefully you’ve been following along all day and have been participating in all the fun. You’ll have plenty of chances to win some great prizes, so make sure you head over to the Joy Clair blog to find out all the details. Incase you missed it, hop on over to my Craftroom Tour {HERE}. I try to make the most of the space I have in order to create all my projects to share with you.

Right now, it’s my turn to challenge you! Lets see what you can create with just letters. You can use die cuts, letter stamps, and sentiments. I’m using two stamp sets from Joy Clair, Dancing Donut Background(which I’ll be using to create my own patterned paper) and Sprinkled with Love. This challenge will show you that you can create a cute card without all the stamped images.

DIRECTIONS:

Start by using the Dancing Donut Background on a piece of what cardstock. Color in the donuts using markers or colored pencils, in your choice of colors. I wanted to keep this card night and bright, so I chose a pink and purple color scheme.

Next, I used my rectangular stitch die for the boarder, to add a nice finished look, and then used my letter die cuts to cut out the word “Donut”. Choose a coordinating solid color paper and cut out two more sets of the word “Donut.”

Glue or tape the three sets of letters together to build dimension. I used the original donut paper letters as the bottom layer and added the two solid colors on top.

Time for embossing. I used the “Worry, Be Happy” sentiment that came in the Joy Clair Sprinkled with Love stamp set and embossed it on black cardstock.

Lastly, adhere the donut background to a coordinating solid color cardstock, glue down the letters, and then use foam tap to add the sentiment.

Even though we used the Dancing Donut Background stamp, it’s used more as a creative way to make your own pattern paper. But, by using only sentiment stamps and letter die cuts, you can still create such a fun card for any occasion.

Now it’s your turn! Lets see what you can create by only using letters (stamps/die cuts/sentiments). Make sure you link your designs in the original Joy Clair post for this challenge, for your chance to win some great prizes!

We want everyone to be able to play so there is *no* requirement to use Joy Clair Stamps although we would be thrilled if you did. Please make a new card though!
We will have all challenges open until next Sunday, October 14th, 2018 at 11:55 p.m. EST to let you create a little more, because celebrations should never be limited to a single day, right?
If you are unable to participate in the challenges, simply comment on the posts. We will be giving one prize to a randomly drawn commenter compiled from all WCMD 2018 posts.
Add your link to the appropriate Inlinkz Link-up tool for that post. You may enter as many times as you wish while the challenges are open. There will a prize posted on each challenge and one card will be randomly chosen as a winner of that prize from those that Link-up.
Have tons of fun!

Guess I need to start making another Valentines Day bag for my little guy.
Search “valentine” on the blog for more details.

The emoji paper cracks me up but it worked so perfectly.
  • A little love note for that special someone.
  • I’ve been going crazy cleaning my house since right before the new year, because I’m determined to make 2019 the year of the purge! #thanksmariekondo
I noticed my placemats that I made in 2017 have definitely been loved, and was thinking maybe that’ll be my first DIY blog post of the year!
Just need to figure out what design I want to put on them.
Search my blog, link in bio, for placemats, to see this older post!
  • Ya feel me 💁🏻‍♀️
  • My Top9 from 2018 makes me a little sad to look at, since I haven’t had a lot of time to do the things I enjoy lately.
I started working again in October, after not working for the past three years since being pregnant and having my son.
While I loved being a part of so many great design teams, I’ve decided that 2019 will be focused on building on my financial freedom (I absolutely hate depending on someone else for money and hate that I haven’t been able to contribute much for family expenses).
I’m hoping to still do some crafting when I have some free time, but definitely not as much as I use to.
I’ve enjoyed my crafting time and hope you all continue to follow me for future projects 💙
  • In case the holiday fun distracts me... Merry Christmas to all my followers!
And if you need a very last minute ornament idea, check out my blog (link in bio) to see how to make a winter wonderland ornament!
