Fall Into This Cozy Shaker Card
Tell someone you are thankful
It’s a rather gloomy day outside my window. Although I’m pretty partial to the sunny weather, this kind of weather made it a bit easier for me to create a fall inspired greet card. Without much seasonal change in Central Florida, it was difficult to find the perfect fall color palette, but once I gathered a handful of different paper, I think it came together nicely. I was able to use my Spellbinders Platinum6 to cut out the leaves and word “thankful,” along with the die cut that coordinates with the card kit. Combining different textures, colors, and material, really brought a fall feeling to the overall design. Scrapbook.com has some great paper and embellishments, so that’s usually my go to store

Supplies Needed:

Spellbinders Fall Leaves Die Cuts (HERE)
Queen and Company Polaroid Shaker Kit (HERE)
Queen and Company Polaroid Die Cut (HERE)
Craft Medley Cup Sequins – Box of Chocolate (HERE)
White & Craft Colored Corrugated Paper
Orange & Cream Colored Patterned Paper
Twine
Glue or Tape
Directions:
Start by using your Spellbinder Platinum6 to cut out the white corrugated paper, using the polaroid die cut that coordinates with the shaker card kit. Set aside the square center, we’ll use that later. Then, if you have available, use a die cut rectangle that has the stitching, to cut that same white corrugated paper. If you don’t, you can always just cut it down a tad bit smaller.
Then, cut the orange patterned paper using the same polaroid die cut.
Go ahead and glue the white paper on top of the orange. Next, have fun with different shapes, styles, textures, and create a few different strips. I tore the edges of the cream colored paper, cut a thin strip of orange and distressed the edges, and made a ribbon end from the craft corrugated paper. Glue these three pieces together in your desired positions. Then, glue down the twine so that it crosses in the center, towards the bottom of your card.
Now, cut out the three leaves and the word “thankful”, that are in the Spellbinders Fall Leaves die cut, using craft paper. Set aside the word “thankful” for later. Next, grab the white corrugated square that we first cut out, and glue the leaves on top in your desired position.
It’s time to start putting everything together. Adhere the foam polaroid front to the A2 card. Then, glue the white corrugated square in the center of the card.
Next, fill the center square with as many sequins as your little heart desires. Don’t go too over board, since we don’t want to hide too much of those pretty leaves we cut out. Once you’re satisfied, peel the front adhesive and place the clear sheet on top.
Using glue or tape, adhere the front of your card to the foam front. Grab the word “thankful” that we cut out earlier, and using glue, adhere it to the front of the card as shown.
How beautiful is this fall inspired greeting card? Like I said before, I love how all the different textures bring this design together.
What are you thankful for this year?
