Handprint Shrinky Flowers
Because really, how adorable are these?
I’m so excited for this entire week of Mother’s Day cards and crafts, more for than any other year. Why? Because this is my very first, official, Mother’s Day! Liam was about 7/8 months baking in my belly last year, and now I get to celebrate almost a year of being a new mom. Holy crap! Sometimes it feel like it’s no big deal, like nothing is different. Then, other days it kinda, sorta, freaks me out! #notgoingtolie Nonetheless, I’m a crafter, therefore, I’m stoked for all the different projects that I get to create now, and for the rest of his childhood!
Shrinky Flowers
So, Pinterest got me again with this project. I saw all these adorable handprint shrinky prints that were on keychains. I wanted so badly to create one with Liam’s wittle hand, but, I also wanted to be different. Like I’ve said before, I try to take inspiration from Pinterest, and not just copy projects. This was an instant light bulb experience. I instantly knew that I wanted to recreate this project into flowers for Mother’s Day. Now, it was trial and error time. Fabric paint on shrink it paper? Yes. I did it. I crossed those boundaries and made it happen. The back side of them is pretty ugly, don’t get me wrong, but the shiny side is all that matters. I think these came out absolutely adorable! Have fun with them, and have a wonderful Mother’s Day!
Etched Bow Vase
Guys! I LOVE Kate Spade, but on a SAHM budget, I can barely afford the knock offs. #yafeelme Also, I couldn’t afford to go out and buy a new vase, so I searched in our kitchen cabinets for something I could potentially use, and found the perfect vase! This was my very first time trying out the Silhouette Etching Cream, and I couldn’t be happier with the process and finished product. It was so easy, quick, and pretty much seamless. I’m about to find every glass product in the house to etch!
